FAQ’s

Do you provide transportation?
All rentals start and end at our dock. Transportation of canoes is sometimes provided for groups with advance reservations.
What age must children be to ride in a canoe?
In addition to having life jackets for adults and children, we have infant life jackets available. We have no age restriction
How many people fit in a canoe?
Maximum rated capacity for aluminum canoes is 4 people, not to exceed 565 pounds, 2 canoe seats and 2 on-floor cushions. Three seater canoes fit 3 adults not to exceed 700 lbs.
Do I need to make reservations?
Reservations are suggested for groups of 10 or more boats. All others do not need to make a reservation.
How far can I canoe in 1 hour?
Most canoeists travel at about 2 m.p.h..
Do canoes and kayaks tip easily?
Staying centered and keeping a low center of gravity are important to stability. Although tipping over is rare, if you do tip over, the canoe or kayak will float and be able to support you.
If the canoe does tip over, do you come and get us?
No. Float the canoe or kayak to the bank and slowly pull it out of the water on it’s side. This will allow the water to drain out. You will then be able to get back in and continue paddling. Boats not returned will be charged an additional $35 retrieval fee.
Do you rent for off site use?
Yes. Rentals are available for use on Class 1 and Class 2 waterways. We reserve the right to limit rentals during times of high water or heavy rain forecasts. We do not supply blocks, racks, or tie downs. We do not rent 3 seater canoes for off site use.
